I have a 1985 Lincoln Towncar with a 5.0 V8. Whenever it is cold, the choke hangs wide open and won't kick-off until it has warmed-up. I have told my mechanics about it,but they act like they don't have a clue. I hope someone here does.

If its really a carbuerator -adjust the initial choke opening and fast idle cam adjustment-choke plates should normally open within 3 mins.
