Power tailgate/lift-gate stopped working

Can a faulty tailgate latch cause power litigate to stop working all together? In the process of replacing latch because of a faulty micro switch. Not sure if this latch issue would shut power door down completely.

Hi Guzzy,

If the latch itself is not releasing then it can cause the power system to not operate because it can't release it.

I attached the system operation which will give a little more detail about it. However, once you replace the latch let me know if it is still not operating as we can figure something out.

We will need to know if you have any codes in the system because that will point us to any circuit issues.
