2004 Lincoln Navigator Starting

when I turn the key to start, the engine turns over, but does not start on the first try. It does start on the second try 90% of the time. Sometimes it takes 3 trys but it always starts. Would new plugs or tune up fix the problem?

A good tune up is always good but this hard starting problem could be caused by a starter on it way out.
Remove it and bench test it to make sure it is defective before you buy a new one.
auto parts store can test the starter's current draw and cranking speed.
