V8 four wheel drive automatic 182,000 miles

my wipers stopped working in the straight up position. I pushed them easily back down and they continued to work together by hand. When you turn on the wipers from inside you hear a clicking sound, but of course they do not move. This happened in another city about six months ago and the garage fixed it by doing something that only cost me $14.00. He said he had to just tighten something up, but I cannot figure out what he did. Thank god for "Rain X".
please help, i need to fix this without spending an arm and leg, it is Christmas time you know. :)

Six cylinder four wheel drive automatic 120,000 miles

The windshield wiper on my SUV is now malfunctioning. The wiper on the driver is working fine; however, the wiper on the passenger is not working at all. What could be the problem?
