After turning wipers on they will sometimes run continuosly in "low" and will not shut off, go to interm or fast. The only way to turn them off is to turn off car and cycle the ignition switch several times until they will stop. Car has rain sensing wipers, but the windshield was replaced at sometime in the past with a std windshield. (been this way for the past 7 yrs we have owned it). I have replaced the multifunction switch and the problem showed up again after a couple of weeks. Looks like next is to look at the wiper park relay. Anybody know how to test it and where it is?

seems like the wiper motor may be at fault here. your wiper relay is located in the underhood auxiliary junction box (in the right front of engine compartment)
