Thumb switch on gearshift.

1994 Lincoln Coni. 3.8 EFI . The thumb switch on the gear shift fell out and will not lock back in. It works ok.

there should be a screw holding the top of the handle on. Take the screw out. lift the top off until it clears the top, put the button back in but don't push it in all the way. put the handle back down and put the screw in place. That should work as long as the button is not broken.
