This car was brought to me to fix the driver side seat motor, as it needed to be replaced. Once that was fixed, we turned on the car and parked it in the front and the next day, it did not want to start up anymore. I put the scanner in and the obd2 has no communication. I read the common problem was to change the crankshaft sensor and so on. The starter cranks, the fuel pump works, I am not really sure about spark right now. The car has been parked for about a year now. But my main concern is the OBD2 is not working, could this also be correlated as to why the car does not want to turn on? I bought a wiring diagram as I was investigating, there is a driver side seat module, and it has a cable going to the Data Link connector. Anyways I plan on diagnosing further, I would like to know if this module could be correlated with it not starting and obd2 not working.

This system uses what is called the SCP bus. This is basically a communication network that requires proper voltages in order to operate properly.

I suggest starting with checking for power and ground at the DLC because if all you did was replace the seat module then this could have been an issue prior to you replacing the part. Especially if this vehicle has been sitting.

So, before we assume this is related, we need to check the basics.

If all power and ground is correct at the DLC then we need to unplug the module that you just installed and see if the DLC operation comes back.

If it does, then the module that you installed is corrupting the bus network.

Let's start with this info and go from there.

Thanks

Kenny, I will check with breaker box for obd2 port soon. I will let you know what I find. But it's not the seat module I changed. The motor is what I changed. Also, will check with an oscilloscope.

Hello guys, I know it's been a while, I was waiting for the guy to bring me the car. I have some updates to share, the guy brought me the car and he didn't tell us what he did to the car, and we were trying to crank it, but it looks like now it has an ignition key switch issue(sad), the key doesn't turn. I will try to get more info from him when I can. But here are the videos of what I found. Second part of the video I tried it with my new scanner Autel, and it does work somewhat with this scanner. Before I used a basic launch scanner and didn't communicate with ECM. I checked the fuses, and all of the fuses looked good. The codes that I got from my Autel scanner are:
U1262 and B1352.

I checked the driver seat module, and it was disconnected, I think the guy disconnected it to check. When I plugged it back in, I got error code U1262.

Guys I disconnected the DDM, DSM, because it said SCP error code. Last I scanned ABS module, got code U1009, U1027, U1009, U1027.

Error code U1009 is important. This is what it says:

What are the Possible Causes of the U1009 Code?
Faulty / intermittent ignition module
J1850 / SCP Bus wiring intermittently open, shorted to power or ground
Faulty / intermittent connection at the Powertrain Control Module (PCM)
Faulty EGR Sensor

Can you upload the videos in your responses please? To me I would check the PCM power and grounds and if okay replace the PCM. It is plug and play for this car. When you try and start it does the security light flash?
