1998 Linconl Continental milleage 44250. My vehicle lights will not turn off. The vehicle display states Driver side door is not closed at all times whe door is actually closed. What can I do to fix this problem I have been having to disconnect my batterie when vehicle is not in use.

check the door light switch on the drivers door. if it has one wire make sure it is not grounded. if the light goes out when its not grounded it is in the door switch. if it has two wires disconnect one and see if the light goes out.

It is the switch that is located on the door latch. I had the same problem with my 95. I would just replace it with a new one as I did so that way you don't have to worry about it again.
