2001 Lincoln Continental Air Suspension

I get this message "CHECK RIDE CONTROL" on the IP.

Also, "NO RIDE CONTROL SELECT" is displayed when Vehicle Handling mode is pressed to select FIRM, SOFT OR NORMAL handling modes.

The car doesn't seem to handle strangely or have an unbalanced stance.

Any clues to what is going on?

I would scan it for codes, this will tell you what part(s) have failed. All is computerized on yours... You will need either a Ford lincoln mercury dealer or a scan tool that reads B C and U codes. All you can check without it is this:
1. Check fuse No. 4 (30-amp) in battery junction box and fuse No. 28 (10-amp) in central junction box. If fuses are okay, go to next step. If fuses are blown, replace fuse and recheck system. If fuse(s) blows again, check for short to ground in Light Green/Violet and/or Dark Green/Yellow wire and repair as necessary.
