I just bought a 1999 lincoln continental for cheap money. the car runs and drives great except for the hard shift from first to second. its only noticeable if it shifts into second at about 1500 rpms or higher. i was wondering... if i dont get it fixed soon will it wreck my tranny and how much would it cost for me to do it myself.. THANKS

my 1990 Continental had a hard shift. I was caused by the kick down cable having a bind or kink in it by the throttle body. I used a zip tie to make the path smother and it fixed it.
