1995 Lincoln Continental battery lite on will not stay char

The alternator is putting out juice, I changed the battery, it runs fine for awhile then dies and will not start, battery dead.

What is the charging voltage across the battery with the engine idling and no accessories on.

If that was with the engine running, then your charging system is not working. If you have already tested the alternator, then test for power at the main terminal of the alternator with the key OFF. If you have no power, check the fusible link in that line.
