Summer months windows, locks, other features do not work and engine will stall when door is opened.

if a button is pressed on the control panel, the dome lights come on and go off. Now the charging system alert is coming on as well. I may have two problems caused by the short. The battery was replaced in august of 2008 and this started. Now the car will not even start. The battery was checked again, the positive cable was just replaced, the hot wire from the positive terminal was replaced, and the solenoid works if a screw driver touches it, but not when started with the ignition switch I get nothing from starter or anything else, but have lights.

I would start by inspecting the wires that pass from the door into the car body, if you dont know how to remove the rubber protector, use a razor on the bottom side and slice it open to reveal the wires, you will find wires that have broken in half! Splice them back together solder and shrink wrap them if you can, if not get some butt connectos and crimp them back together. Match up the colors and you will be OK.

Merlin 2021 thank you for your response. I did do what you had suggested, unfortunately I did not find a broken wire, and checked the control panel to no avail. Still searching/
