Limp mode after Engine Service now and Hill start assist unavailable notifications?

The car listed above is a mk7, it has started going into limp mode after displaying 'Engine service now' and 'Hill start assist unavailable' messages.

Both brake light switches have been replaced.

Hi,

I need to know which engine you have. My manual indicates three different options. See pic below.

Also, have you scanned the computer to see if any diagnostic codes are relevant to this issue? In this case, I would scan the can-bus.

CAN stands for controller area network. Basically, the different modules are tied together via a few wires. This will retrieve codes regardless of the module storing them.
