Runs fine in park. No acceleration in gear. Transmission speed control sensor code. Changed the sensor. How do I get it out of limp mode?

Hi,

When you place it in gear, what happens? For example, does the engine rev but the vehicle does not move? Also, what is the code that you had indicating the sensor needed to be replaced? If you can get that for me, I can check the manual to see if there is anything other than a sensor that can cause the code

Also, have you cleared the codes that were stored?

Let me know.

Joe

Runs fine in park or neutral. When you put it in gear the accelerator pedal doesn't respond, just stays idle. Codes are p0715 input/turbine speed sensor A circuit. P0840 transmission fluid pressure sensor switch A circuit, p0845 transmission fluid pressure sensor switch B circuit.

Hi,

The codes related to the pressure sensor have to be causing this. I'm not familiar with the engine not responding when in gear and its relation to the transmission pressure codes, but I suspect it may be a safety-related response. I've never experienced it, but I never had both pressure sensors fail.

Take a look at the pics below. They are the diagnostics for the P0840. Take a look through them and let me know if this is something you feel comfortable doing. I didn't include the P0845 because it is very similar, and I didn't want to overwhelm you.

Let me know.

Joe
