So I dont see this code in service info, but a quick search looks like the code is a "Torque management request input Signal A malfunction". This is flagging a communications problem between the TCM (transmission control module) and the PCM (engine computer). Which would make sense that it is going into limp mode, because the false safe for the transmission is limp mode a lot of times to prevent damage to it or the engine. So its something that will need to be looked into further, but from what you are desribing with the wiring, start checking connectors for corrosion inside, look at the pins inside the connectors for any green corrosion growing in there. The modules communicate on a data network, so any issues with communications on the Canbus network can cause this same type of fault. The transmission control module itself might have codes stored in it, but you will need a scan tool capable of communicating with more than just the engine computer.
