lights on, car wont shift

My 2003 Chevy Trailblazer has all the lights on ABS and all, and says to check brake s system but it has fluid and all, nothing's wrong with the brakes. Also won't shift automatically, I can do it manually but it's still rough. Also the speesometer jumps all over the place

check battery for condition including load test and whether or not terminals are clean. then have it scanned for codes.

It's the ABS module that you have to get scanned, not the engine module. It sounds like there is a problem with one of the speed sensors but the codes will tell you that. Do the scan before messing with the battery cables because you might just erase the codes if you lose the battery connection momentarily.
