1993 Lexus SC 400 Battery not being charged after replaceme

1993 Lexus SC 400 V8 Automatic

Hello, i have a 93 lexus sc400. i have had a battery / power issue. i took the battery to get tested and they said that it was not holding a charge. i replaced the battery, but the battery charge light is on when idling and then upon acceleration it turns off. in my owners manual it said that the belt may not be tight enough. this started just about 2 weeks after i had my air conditioner compressor replaced by a certified lexus mechanic shop. do you have any suggestions on what could be causing this issue? please advise.

Retension the belt-if it continues have the alternator load tested.
