2 months ago our check engine light came on along with the VSC light. We've had it diagnosed 3 times & all diagnosis say that it is the front catalytic converter that needs to be replaced. We are leaving & using this car for a 10 hour road trip (there & back) next week. I was told by my brother who used to be a mechanic that I would be okay to get it fixed after the trip. He said the ligth comes on at even the slightest of detections. My question is, Is he correct? Would it be okay to go ahead & take our car on our road trip & have it fixed after?

Hi Laurenclyde,

Thank you for the donation.

If the trouble code is for the catalytic converter, your brother is correct. You can drive the vehicle without any problem.

What were the EXACT trouble codes retrieved?
