Just bought a used suv ..... the prev owners had dogs because there was hair between the seats that we managed to vaccum up.

I have had the car detailed which included a rug shampoo ........ Still stinks !!!

Air freshners just mask it ......

Don't know exactly where it's comming either

I ordered new mats and am thinking about getting the rug replaced ?

you could replace the interior carpet kit, just be sure the sound insulator under it isnt soaked in nasty stuff, if so it will need to be removed as wll to get rid of the smell.You may even want to try another go at the shampooig, it may work if done more than just once.Go to an auto parts store and find a cleaner (not something to make it shiny) that is safe for the interior and wipe everything down, the smell will stick to everything
