I am being told that when the rear disc brakes go it is necessary to replace the axles on the car. Is this true. It sounds strange to me.

There is no reason I know of to do this, unless you hit a crb and bent the axle? This are slip off rotors...caliper and caliper mount are the only things that need to be removed to get them off!
