My husband is a great shade-tree mechanic, so we are wondering if he would be able to replace the starter on our Lexus. His other mechanic friend gave him a phone consultation and said on this model, you have to take apart the manifold to get to the starter. Most garages will charge at least $250 labor to do so. Your thoughts?

Yes intake must be removed it goes for 4.6 hrs. labor so at a $90 per hr shop rate $250 is a bargain
