When my 1994 Lexus LS 400 is cold, the instrument gages do not work. After approximately 20 - 30 minutes, the gages come back on. The Lexus dealer's machanic stated that the "combo meter" is going out. They said this part has to be sent out to be fixed and will take 2 weeks and $850.00. Is this the only option or is there a cheaper fix? Please advise. Thank you.

I had a problem with my dashboard lights not coming on in cold temperatures until the car has warmed up enough. I don't know if it's the same problem as yours. Our dealer says it's not worth fixing because it'll cost a few grands. We ended up fixing it ourselves by following the instructions given by some fellow owners on www.clublexus.com. Go to that site. It's a great forum for Lexus repair solutions.
