Hi I just purchased a theft recovered is350 and realized that when the car is started and put into gear it will not accelerate and the rpm's will not move when the gas pesal is pressed. The check engine light and vsc light are also on. The car will also sometimes have a problem holding a steady rpm. It will go down to 700 and jump back up to 1000 rpm's. I have tried putting the car in gear and taking off the ebrake but it will move very slowly and will not respond to the accelerator. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks

HI there,

Thank you for the donation,

You will have to get the fault code read, as this will be a starting point for the diagnosis for these problem, have you checked the trans oil? My main concern is that it is a theft recovery vehicle, now I don't know of too many hoods who steal late model luxury cars and drive them with care, more than likely they did their level best to trash the life out of it, I would be a bit cautious about how far you get involved with this car, I think that you should have a mechanic give it a good going over before committing to much money into it.

Hi there, there is no dip stick, the oil must be check on a hoist, theres a fill plug and a overflow plug that need to be removed, see pics.

Mark.
