2000 Lexus GS 350 will not shift into high gear at high spe

Transmission problem
2000 Lexus GS 350 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive 120000 miles

my girlfriends lexus will not shift into high gear on the highway. car runs normally. all shifting is nornal until you are on the highway and then it will not shift into high gear even at 4000 rpm.

Will go into High gear if you manually shift it? Is the check engine light on? regardless you may want to have the PCM scanned for any trouble codes it may have recorded. Usually iit is computer controlled item thPCM will see the failure and record a code. Does the speedo work properly?

no there are no codes and it will not shift into high gear manually.

The you may need to find a trans shop or other that has the ability to override the computer and work the solenoid for 3rd gear.Sounds like it isnt working
