For ambient temps above 0 Deg C use a 5W-30

Warm the engine up and if you can for better access have the car jacked up on a firm level surface, remove sump plug and drain oil (caution it will be hot) when drained replace seal on plug and re fit plug, replace oil filter and re fill oil, run and re check level.

Oil services are important because the old oil collects carbon and acids which will attack bearings and this is detrimental to there life, also old oil will break down and offer less protection to the engine and oil consumption will be higher.
