This car has began shutting down when I drive it though not completely cutting off. The mechanic put in on their computer and said that its probably a problem in the computer or the ignition system. States the work will have to be done at a dealer. Sounds very expensive and im very scared. Do you have an estimate on the cost of repairing this?

im pretty sure your vehicle has 2 ignition coils, one for 4 cylinders. you could have a coil breaking down causing you to run on only 4 cylinders. hope this helps

way to vague to give a real answer.

this car is a v6 and quite possibly with those miles one of the vvt-i sensors might be bad and causing 3 cylinders to misfire badly.
