I believe this is a CO2 sensor malfunction. Is this something that can be replaced at home, or does it need to be taken in for repair.

How is it replaced if I can do it at home?

The code indicates an evaporative system control malfunction. Unless you have a manual with instruction and a scan meter it would be difficult.
Try to find an independent shop that is A.S.E. certified.
