Car was stored off the road about 8 months ago; engine will start with jumpers, but charge warning light is on and alternator doesn't appear to be charging, although it operated fine when motor last ran at layup.

Battery OK, fuses OK, could it be voltage regulator?

Thanks,

Possibly, but if im not mistaken it is internal in the alternator. Most regs now days are solid state and dont use breaker points that could stick like the old external regs, may just be bad luck.
