Similar to others, I left the key on in my 740i for a few hours. When I came back, when I tried to start the engine would not crank. No noise from the starter, no clicking. The lights all worked, windows, headlights. I looked at the threads here and tried unlocking withe key fob, locking and unlocking manually, no change. Called BMW they said replace the battery. I did with no change, still won't crank. They said it probably wasn't alarm system but it sure seems like it's locked out for some reason. As I said lights, everything seems ok except engine won't crank. I will check fuses next. Any other ideas?

Hello,

When you try and crank the engine over do you have a security light flashing? If so this guide will help you reset the system:

If not can I ask if you jumped the old battery? Lets check the fuses. here is a guide to help:

Please run down these guides and report back.
