Hi,
One of two things has likely happened. Either the handle (where it attaches to the linkage in the door) has broken or the linkage has come disconnected.
Because of the model year, I have no specifics on the procedure to provide. However, I will try my best to direct you.
What needs to be done is this. You need to remove the inner door panel first. If it has never been removed, there will be a plastic sheeting behind it. Carefully remove the upper left side of the plastic.
With the window in the up position, take a flashlight and look in toward the handle. There will be a steel rod (linkage) that should be attached to the handle and on the other side, to the door latch. Make sure both sides are secured.
If they are, move the door handle to open the door and watch where the linkage is attached to the handle to see if the actual handle is broken.
If it is, the handle needs to be replaced. If I recall, there are two nuts that have to be removed for it to come off the door. So, remove the linkage from the handle and the two nuts. The handle should pull off the vehicle.
Installation is the reverse of the removal.
Let me know if this helps or if you have other questions.
Take care,
Joe
