I just replaced the head gaskets and reassembled the engine.

The issue has to do with a leaky heat pipe connection to the manifold at the thermostat housing.

I purchased and installed a new GM O-ring to no avail.

Is there a trick in getting this to properly seal?

The pipe in question is #11 in this attached chart and the O-ring is #13.

Thanks

Good morning,

Is the end of the pipe in good condition?

I use some gray RTV on the seal and push it in. Make sure the mount is attached to the head and secured to be sure it is in straight. The bracket is slotted and push it in as far as you can and then secure the nut for the line.

Thanks for getting back to me.
The end of the pipe is okay.
They only had a clear silicon RTV but said this would do
Is this the product you recommend and will it suffice? See image.
Thanks again
