Awhile back someone stole the catalytic converter from my vehicle listed above. Because I didn't have too much of a choice, I still drove my vehicle around for a while. I then put a straight pipe in place of the catalytic converter. It made it quieter but then out of nowhere one day I started to drive and ran out of gas. I didn't think too much about it, I just put gas in, then went to the gas station and put more in a total of $3000. Did what I needed to go do wasn't too far and ran out of gas again. I took it home and parked it when I went under the vehicle, I noticed oil all over the straight pipe I used to replace the catalytic converter. And while driving I could smell gas bad; I thought it was because the gas can but even without the gas can the smell of gas Is bad. I had a friend look at it and he said there was about two quarts of oil too much and gas was spraying out the parts where the straight pipe was clamped on (in place of the missing catalytic converter). He took out the spark plugs and cleaned them off also he fixed the clamps on the pipe for me, but it is still leaking gas. Not as bad but enough to not be able to drive. I need help please!

A quick thought is that when they stole your catalytic converter, they might have made a hole in your gas line where they cut the catalytic converter off. You said the gas is spurting out but less when your friend put the clamps on. There might be a pin hole leak on the fuel line. Look for clean spots under the car. Usually, a small gas leak will leave a trail (usually a clean spot where the gas has leaked). We have a guide for fuel leaks, check it out.

Let us know what you find.

The gas line is fine and has already been checked. Its dripping out from the exhaust pipe right where the cat was cut off is that normal it's not spraying out no more, but it still drips when you push the gas. Also, I didn't mention before when I'm driving it is really rough and sometimes, I can push the gas pedal all the way down and it doesn't go and then it will catch, and it will start going and then at other times it will idle really high.

Hi,

I noticed you haven't been contacted for a couple of days. Have you made any progress?

As far as your question is concerned, fuel should not be dripping from the exhaust. Something is causing pressure to be too high or there are fuel injectors stuck open.

Let me know.

Joe
