I am replacing the leaf spring shackles because of rust and bushing problems. I ordered new ones and the inside width where the leaf spring attaches to the shackle is 1/4" to big. I have searched around and there all the same and even found one 1/2" bigger. I know it is not suppose to be loose in there because the bushing sleeve has ridges to bit the inside of the shackle. any help would be appreciated.

The bushings must be pressed in and out, they do not slide in and out easily. Being rubber or urethane, they will conform to the size of the leaf spring eye.

You are correct... there should not be play in there. Are you sure the parts store is giving you the correct ones for your year vehicle? Also, I believe there was a difference between the WT trucks and others that year. Make sure the parts store knows the correct one.
