1999 Other Rover Models Engine firing order

at the back of the engine where the spark plug wires go there are 2 ignition coils. looking down and from left to right and top to bottom what is the firing order, and looking at the engine left side is 1,3,5,7 and right is 2,4,6,8, is this correct.

As you look at the engine from the front- left is 2,4,6,8. right is -1,3,5,7
The pic is flat so top to bottom is difficult. top row left to right is-8,5,6,1 bottom left to right is-2,3,4,7. Look at the coils with a mirror and flashlight, they should be numbered
