2002 Land Rover Freelander Four Wheel Drive Manual 102000 miles

Hi,

I have a 2002 freelander TD4 and I keep losing power intermittently, the car will run fine and then for no apparent reason I lose acceleration, if I let off the accelerator and apply it again I can get back to the speed where I started to lose power but no further, the acceleration is slower. It usualy gets as far as 3000rpm but then levels off at this. I have recently had full service at an official land rover dealer but they found no problem during service or on the diagnostics, the problem has been intermittent for the past 8 weeks. Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Regards,
Colm

Sounds like the car is going into limp home mode. The only way to find this intermittent fault is to have the car plugged into a diagnostic computer whilst the fault is occuring !
