2002 Land Rover Discovery Alarm malfunction

When key is put in door to unlock jeep the alarm goes off. 2 garages have been unable to fix problem so jeep is currently left unlocked as if locked the alarm goes off when I attempt to unlock it and have to go to garage to be switched off. Garage tells me it is not possible to disconnect locking mechanism from alarm, is this so?

everything is cotrolled by BCM (body control module) and cannot be disconnected .. does the vehicle have any BCM faults stored ?
