2001 Land Rover Discovery 2 Water Pump

REMOVAL:

Disconnect the negative battery cable.
Drain and recycle the engine coolant.
Remove the accessory drive belt.
Remove the 3 bolts securing the pulley to the coolant pump, and remove the pulley.
Release the clip and disconnect the feed hose from the coolant pump.
Remove the 9 bolts securing the coolant pump, remove the pump and discard the gasket.

INSTALLATION:

Clean the coolant pump and mating face.
Install new gasket and coolant pump to the cylinder block.
Install the mounting bolts and tighten to 16 ft. Lbs. (22 Nm).
Connect the feed hose to the coolant pump, and secure with clip.
Ensure the mating faces of coolant pump pulley and flange are clean.
Install the pulley, and tighten the bolts to 16 ft. Lbs. (22 Nm).
Install the auxiliary drive belt.
Connect the negative battery cable.
