Removal & Installation (Discovery Series II)
Remove front door trim panel. See FRONT DOOR TRIM PANEL . Carefully remove plastic vapor barrier. Remove outside door mirror. See POWER MIRRORS article. Remove inner waist seal.
Remove 2 clips securing ends of outer waist seal. Remove outer waist seal. See Fig. 3 . Remove 2 bolts securing window to regulator. If necessary, lower window to access bolts. Remove bolts securing window frame to door. Remove door frame complete with window. Slide out and remove window from frame.
Disconnect window motor electrical connector. Remove 6 bolts securing window regulator assembly to door. Remove window regulator through access hole at bottom of door. Remove 3 Torx screws securing glass lift motor to regulator and remove motor.
To install, reverse removal procedure. Ensure mating surfaces of regulator and motor are clean. Tighten bolts and Torx screws to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
Removal & Installation (Discovery)
Ensure window is fully closed. Secure window with adhesive tape to prevent it from dropping. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove front door trim panel. See FRONT DOOR TRIM PANEL . Remove plastic vapor barrier.
Remove window motor wiring harness from 3 retaining clips. See Fig. 6 . Disconnect window motor electrical connector from main door wiring harness. Remove 3 bolts, and remove window motor through top front opening of door panel.
To install, position window motor and loosely tighten 3 bolts. Ensure drive gear is engaged and correctly aligned with window lift linkage, and tighten window motor bolts. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure.
