1999 Land Rover Discovery V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic

Can someone explain how to change the wires and plugs. The wires diappear at the firewall. Do I need to take off the manifold? How hard of a job to change the wires?

Yes you need to remove the top intake manifold i'm afraid. I would replce the coil packs at the same time to avoid having to do it all again at a later date !

Hey.

There are no special tools made for this repair ... it is a time consuming/difficult repair as you are working in a very confined space and having to lie on top of the engine/motor .. A magnetic pick up tool and mirror are good tools to have handy as you will drop at least one if the little bolts down the back of the motor at some stage ..I have cursed the designer of this system many many times ....LOL
