Reported check engine light was on, so I went to go pull the codes. 11 for the continuous (no issues) 34 and 41 for stored codes. Didn't come up on the KOER test.

Hey HAPLO,

We will need the full fault codes in the form P---- (eg. P1234)

The codes will have a letter, P is for power-train, and then four numbers.

Please reply with these codes and we will try and give you some further information.

Regards, Joe

Hello,

This is an OBD1 car so the codes are correct. EGR valve and lean which makes sense if the EGR is stuck open. I would remove the valve and use this video to test it.

Please run down this guide and report back.

Good video! Thanks for the help Ken. Got about 80 miles on it now with no check engine light. Appointment for smog check next week. If you don't hear from me again, no news is good news. :)

Hey HAPLO,

Sorry I thought you were dealing with an OBD2 van originally.

If you can let us know if the EGR valve was the issue and what you did to fix eg. Replacement/cleaning it will help others with the same issue.

Glad to hear the check engine light is now off.

Regards, Joe
