So my car has been making a knocking sound that started around four days ago. It only happens after I release the accelerator pedal and increases the faster I go. It also goes away when I press on the brake.

Welcome to 2CarPros.

Since it stops when there is pressure on the drive axles, I first recommend checking to make sure you don't have a bad CV joint (axle joint). Safely lift and support the front of the vehicle and inspect wheels for tightness, for excessive play in the axle shafts, check the steering components and wheel bearings. Make sure you don't have a loose caliper or caliper bolt missing. Here are a few links you may find helpful, and the more I think about it, the more I'm thinking you may even have a loose wheel. Make sure they are tight.
