knocking sound

My car was low on oil, started knocking first time since I had it. Took to get oil change, and still knocks a little, will knocking go away or have I done some damage. Also egnition cylynder is broke. Could that play a part in it?

If there's very slight knocking due to low oil level it will go away within a few seconds of adding more oil if it's going to at all. More likely the engine bearings have already been damaged. The lock cylinder has nothing to do with oil and engine problems.
