I had to put a donut on my front driver side. It turned on the AWD light and the back driver side tire started whistling loud like brakes were locking up. I know it was the donut that made the AWD engage. I wasn't far from home, so I tried to drive slowly. I gave it too much gas and heard a loud pop. After that it was making a knocking noise of some sort from the driver's side tire. I changed the damaged tire and put the actual rim back on it and it still is making that knocking sound like something is hitting. It only makes the sound when I get to about 15 MPH.

Hi,

The outside diameter should be the same as the OEM tire size. Has the original size been changed?

As far as the noise, I need you to safely lift the driver's side front wheel off the ground and check to see if there is play in any direction.

Next, check for excessive play in the CV axle. If there was excessive tension on the CV joint spider assembly or the ball cage/inner race, something may have been damaged.

I attached a pic below where to watch for play on the axle.

Let me know what you find.

Joe
