Knocking behind glove box

I’m hearing a knocking noise behind my glove box. Based on other similar questions, I tested the A/C while I heard the knocking and turning it totally off stops the knocking so I think it is connected to that. I’ve also read similar questions on your site that show people have repaired it themselves. My actual question is, is this a repair that can only be done by experienced car people or can a newbie replace this part? Just trying to figure out if I can save money or if I’m better off paying someone to do it for me. Thanks! :)

Hi,

I believe you are referring to the blend air door. If you take your time, you should be fine. Plus, if you have questions, I'll try my best to help you through the process.

To get you started, here is a link that shows the general procedure for the actuator replacement:

If you look at the attachments below, I included directions and pictures specific to your vehicle for replacement. Give it a try and let me know how it turns out or if you need help.

Take care,

Joe
