knock sensor suddenly faulty

Hi,

I attached the test procedure for this code. I would not just replace the sensor if all you did was move the harness. More than likely you just have a wiring issue or terminal issue in the connector. This test talks a lot about checking for continuity. This means do have a good wire or is there an open circuit. If you have a terminal issue in the connector, replacing the sensor will not fix it.

Further more, this DTC is for a circuit issue not necessarily a faulty sensor.

If you suspect there is a terminal issue, you can also just get a replacement connector kit which comes with a new connector and wires already in it so you can just cut the wires and solder on the new one.

Thank you , you are right . It was the wiring there was rodent damage . I ordered the harness already .

I did a solder because the wire was too short from the brown connector side .

Will the solder patch job affect the resistance of the sensor itself ? And if so , should i avoid driving the car until i receive the part by mail?

That is great that you found it. Solder itself will not affect the resistance as this is the preferred method of joining wires.

As long as you protected the solder with a heat shrink sleeve, you will be just fine. Solder just like the wiring itself is susceptible to the elements however, if you are going to change it all in a few days then you should not have any issues. At least I personally would not worry about it.
