When I started up my SUV this evening, it took much longer than usual to actually start. Once I got it running, it felt and sounded as though it was hesitating every 5-10 seconds or so. When I pressed the accelerator, it felt worse, and was much more audible. Might this be an issue with the fuel injection system?

Have you checked fuel pump pressure? Here is a how to. My biggest concern is what is called "Fuel Pressure Drop Off." What happens is when the power is shut at the key, the fuel system looses pressure and which requires the pump to rebuild after you turn it back on.

Her is a how to for checking:

Let me know what you find.
