Air bag light stays on, Have checked fuses,Unhooked battery gound for five min and put back on (airbag light still on)

Airbag DTCs are stored in the BCM, not the ECM. BCM has its own capacitor for power, so unplugging the battery will not reset the system. You will need a can tool capable of airbag system to check it. The usual OBD-II scanner won't do it.
