2002 Kia Sportage whistling

while driving only my 2002 kia makes a whistling noise between 1500 and 2100 rpm's it does not happen if i accelerate through the rpm's only while at a cruising speed. i have check the belts and for any exhaust leaks. totally clueless on this one
