2001 Kia Sportage code p0422

i have a 2001 kia sportage with engine code p0422 i recently purchesed the car and durring test drive i drove it for about 30 miles ranging anywhere from 15 mph to almost 70 mph with no problems so i bought the car and shortly after filling up with gas the engine light came on with code p0422. at first i thought watter in gas so bought water remover (stp brand) reset code and within 3 miles came right back on so then added octane booster and agian reset code and this time stayed off for about 50 miles then came back on. what should i do next?

P0422....Main Catalyst Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1) check the oxygen sensor

replace o2 sensor ok whitch on internet says theres a upper and a lower

looked at the connector and found out i had a oil leak from the valve cove so i torqued all the bolts useing a criss/cross pattern and sprayed the area with degreaser then washed it off and dried with a air compressor, reset the computer and drove went about 32 miles ranging from 15 - 50 mph with no defect. thanks for all your help, you guys rock
