Drive Train Axles Bearings problem
1995 Kia Sportage Four Wheel Drive

I am thinking about purchasing a 1995 KIA Sportage for only $1,000.00, but the owner says that she took it to the mechanic and he said the rear end would eventually go out. I want to know how much this will cost me to get fixed, and since the bb value is $6,000.00, will it be worth it to do so?

Thank you so much,

Joel

Joel:
First, if the entire differential needs replaced, I would estimate 2500.00. As far as the book price, what condition is the vehicle in? How many miles are on it?

Keep in mind, everything will eventually go bad. However, is the differential making noise when you drive it? It could be something as simple as a bearing.

Let me know.
